1. Board Chair announcement.

Mr. Chu Ruiyin has resigned from the PA Chair position
due to personal reason. The Board respects his decision
and appreciates all he has been doing in helping our
school.
According to the bylaw, the Board of Trustee needs to
appoint an acting Chair for the remaining term. After
searching and interviewing several potential candidates,
the Board has unanimously voted to appoint Ms. ZhangHong
as the Acting PA Chair of Huaxia at Montgomery for the
remaining term. Ms. ZhangHong is a well known parent
activist at Huaxia at all levels. Please welcome Ms.
ZhangHong to join the school management team and do your
best to support her.

2. The 揅hinese Culture Contest? will be held at our
school at 4:00 PM ? 5:00 PM at this coming Saturday. We
have 44 students registered for this context. And total
test students are more then 400. Let us wish all of them
have a success test. Attached
CulturalKnowledgeContest_50Q.doc is a Plainsborough
Chinese School prepared 50 Q&A list. It will help studetns
for that contest.
SCHOOL FINISHES at 2:20 PM.
Due to the large volume students come to our school, we
need to do some adjustments to our current class schedule.
This Saturday, we will ONLY have one class which starts at
1:30 PM and ends at 2:20 PM. We will encourage all
non-ontest students leave school after 2:20 PM.
3. We (HuaXia Chinese School at Montgomery) will have a
2008 Chinese New Year Cerebration Party on Saturday,
February 2, 2008. It starts at 3:30 PM. Please see
attachment ?2008 new year party.ppt?. All classes after
3:30 PM on that day are canceled. We still have all
classes during 1:30-3:20pm as usual. This party consists
of our school students? performance and some outside
performers. I encourage all parents bring their kids to
see the performance. The adult ticket is the same price as
the student抯, $5. We will prepare a gift for each student
who has a student ticket. Please purchase the tickets
through PA parents in room B102.
NEED HELP: We need helpers on that day for children
activities. If you can provide your help, please contact
PA Chair ? Ms. Zhang Hong at joannehcyuen@yahoo.com.
4. Do you know we have the Chinese SAT II class. It will
be started on 1/26/08. The class may be ended before SAT
exam date. (the first week of Nov). The minimum class size
is five students. Please register it via online system at
www.hxcsmg.org or contact our registration staff via
registration@hxcsmg.org.
5. On February 9, 2008, at Upper Middle School Auditorium,
there is a performance hosted by Montgomery High School
Chinese Language Program (lead by Ms. Jenny Lu). It is
called 揂 Passage to China?. Please see attachment ?
Flyer桟olor.doc. Our PA parents will help sale the tickets
in room B102. Caution, it is a different event with 2/2/08
party described at item 3.
6. This Saturday is the last school day of first
semester of school year 2007 - 2008. 1/26/2008 is the
first day of second semester.
