Week 1 Message

 

Dear Parents and Teachers,


Earlier this week, the confirmation notices for the Chinese classes

were sent to every class email account.

The notice indicates student’s teacher, classroom, and
time period. The notices for CLS and culture classes have
not sent yet. If you have not received a notice yet,
please come to school early on the first day. The classes
list will be posted at the school.

All Chinese and CLS classes start on September 6, 2008 at
1:30pm at Montgomery Upper Middle Campus. There are no
culture classes on the first day of school.

On the first day, we will let parents visit the kids’
classes for the first hour 1:30 – 2:20pm. We will have a
parents meeting between 2:30 – 3:30 pm in the Cafeteria.
The process of registration and changing classes will
start at 1:15 pm at Cafeteria. There is no registration
service during the parents’ meeting.

Moon cake sale. Parent Association will have a moon cake
sale this week. The moon cake are priced at $13, $15, and
$19. Please bring exact change to purchase the moon cake.

New Classes:

1. A new adult culture class - Mulan Chuan Class is added
in the registration system.

2. SAT II Math Class Demo: Mr. Harold Ning will present a
SAT Math class demo on Sept. 6 at 3:30pm in room C105. The
purpose of the demo is to open the class for High School
Students in our school.  If interested, please attend the
demo.

3. A new culture class “Youth Leadership and Public
Speaking” is open to students. See attached course
description.

The school 2008 – 2009 calendar, student rules (Chinese
version), and parent guidelines (Chinese version) are
attached.

Again, some of you may already know that our school
teacher – Ms. Gu, MingZheng will host a vocal concert at
Montgomery Performance Art Center on Saturday October 4,
2008 at 6:30 PM. The $10 tickets are for Chinese school.
They accept personal check or cash. Make the check
payable to:  “HuaXia Chinese School at Montgomery” and
indicate Sally Gu Vocal Concert at memo line. The official
