1. This is the fourth week of the Chinese classes and the third week of the Culture classes. Just a remind that our refund and withdraw policy is

Withdrawal, Exchange and Refund:

Withdrawal class form (school will provide) need to be filled should you decide to withdraw any class. Tuition is fully refundable if withdrawal is submitted within the first two weeks of school. 50% of your tuition payment is refundable if the withdrawal is submitted in the third week of school. Tuition is non-refundable if withdrawal request is made after third week of school.

No refund for registration fee and book fee.

To exchange any class: An exchange class form (available in school administration office) should be submitted. The exchange is not valid until approved by school administration team. Class transfer request within the same level will not be considered. Each student has one opportunity to request a class change free of charge within the first three weeks of school. Any subsequent request will incur $10 processing fee.

2. There is an Asian-American Festival event on Oct. 5. If you are interested, flyers will be handed out during Chinese school this Saturday.

3. Picnic time. Please see Chair of PA – Mr. Zhang YuanZheng's announcement for the Picnic. The registration form is attached.

Hi, All,

We are going to organize a picnic at Duke Island Park on Oct.19 Sunday.
It starts at 10:00am. The park is located in Bridgewater. It is about 10 miles.
The site is #5. I am planning to do BBQ. Hotdog, Hamberg, Chicken wing, Baby Ribs and Sausage. The cost for the food is $5 each person.

I need you all help. We need also provide some activities too.

4. This year, HuaXia Headquarter is dedicating the publishing news paper to each branch. October 17, the first issue of newspaper is publishing from our school. Here is our young editor’s message.

“Dear Huaxia Students and Parents,

I hope the school year is going smoothly for you so far. My name is Kristy Lin and I am the editor for the HX Montgomery branch of Xiao Yu sShi Jie. I am preparng the 2 issues for this school year for our branch and will be published on Mei Zhou Shi Bao.

I am asking that if you have any essays, stories, or pictures you would like to submit. It would be greatly appreciated. I know you or your kids have been write a lot of essays or stories in Chinese and have a good time at Chinese school . It would both be a good way to show off your work and enrich the newspaper. 5. The registration time for the SAT Math will end by this Saturday. The class will start in early October. If you have not registered yet, please do it before this Saturday. Also, the teacher will provide one year online verbal SAT tests with no addition fee if you participate in the SAT Math program. See his message below.

" Some parents asked whether there is a SAT verbal class in the Hua Xia Chinese School. It's a reasonable request; after all, these are the same students who would like to improve their SAT verbal scores. There is a company that designs and manages these practice SAT verbal tests. I have an agreement with this company to offer these SAT verbal practice tests (for one year) on their web site. I like to offer it to students in my SAT Math course, free of charge.

I think students can benefit tremendously with these practice tests. Let me know if this is workable or whether there is any concern.

6. The registration time for the "Youth Leadership and Public Speaking” class will end by this Friday. Whether the class will be opened depends on the number of registered students.

7. Ms. Fong, Hui is going to open an art class. This week, she has a presentation in the classroom 208 starting at 3:30pm. See attached class description.

8. Teacher Liu May opens another culture class called “Chinese Knot” starting at 3:30 – 4:20pm in room B206. See attached for detail.

9. This is the last week to purchase the tickets of Ms. Gu, MingZheng ‘s vocal concert at Montgomery Performance Art Center on Saturday October 4, 2008 at 6:30 PM. The $10 tickets are for Chinese school. They accept personal check or cash. Make the check payable to: “HuaXia Chinese School at Montgomery” and indicate Sally Gu Vocal Concert at memo line.The official concert email address is sallyguconcert@yahoo.com.
