Dear Parents and Teachers,

Last week, we had a very successful donation campaign for

the people suffered from the Earthquake in China.

The following numbers tell you how our School members

contribute their warm-heart and their love.

Total donation: $14,346.26 (Checks - $13,444.26, Cash -

$902)

This is just the first week donation. The donation will

continue on May 31, until June 7 – the last day of school.

The donation receipts for the last week donation are ready

for you. Please come to school office to find yours.

For these non Chinese school families, we will mail the

receipt to your address.

I believe all of us have been tearful every time we see

news or pictures of the Earthquake.

Whole China is crying. No one can control not to. Our

heart tied with the people in the Disaster areas.

What we can do now is do our best provide our financial

contribution to help them, to support them, to express our

love to them.

You can see it is happened based on the donation we had

last week. Many students/kids brought their own allowances

to their teachers.

Someone asked their parents for money, and then gave to

teachers.

Some parents educated their kids about the Earthquake and

asked them bring money to teachers.

Some parents dropped the donation in front of their kids.

We had several non school families either came to school

drop their donations or let our school members bring it to

our school.

I am really impressed by our lovely families. We are great

nation and great people.

Whole HX people are contributing their love to the people

in China.

HXCSs contributed $256,701.71 just in a week. It is

growing.

One thing I like to share with you. Our HXHQ has a

proposal on how to do with the donation.

Because the amount of our donation is big and more to come

and Huaxia Chinese School is a group of schools, HX may

take this opportunity to build a specific school in

Sichuan.

HXHQ and along with all branches are working on how make

it happen.

To rebuild a school, we may get the Chinese Consulate’s

help.

Another suggestion is just put the donation directly to

China Red Cross.

If you have any suggestions or comments, please let me

know.

2. We have NO school this Saturday May 24 due to the

Memorial Day. School will resume on May 31.

3. Let’s congratulate our four teachers are honored by

Qiao Ban as excellent teachers. See attached - excellent

teachers award list from Qiao Ban.pdf. I like to represent

whole school members thank to these teachers for their

contributions to our school and students.

4. We are working the next school year’s online

registration. I believe it will be ready on or before June

1, 2008.

5. Last Saturday, we had an accident. Two kids were

injured due to run and bump.

One of them went emergency room several times and had to

stay in Hospital for treatment.

School Administration Team and the teacher are very sorry

for the incident.

We will take extra effort to prevent this kind incident

occur again.

Also, I ask your help on the order of school. If you see

kids are running around in the school, please stop them.
